How do you hire a plumber? Or a contractor to install better lighting in your kitchen? Interested in finding a landscaper or housecleaning service? There are some helpful online resources that will assist your decision-making in choosing a contractor, whether it’s a handyman for small jobs or contractors who may handle more complex projects
The Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission offers assistance to low and moderate-income Franklin County homeowners (who are NOT in the City of Columbus limits) for home repair programs.

MODCON Living A nonprofit organization that offers help with affordable home repair and modification for vulnerable home owners. The “Mod Squad” is a social enterprise that serves as a handyman service for central Ohioans, with projects funds serving at risk senior homeowners.

This program is open to all military veterans, provided they have received an honorable or general discharge, and is not restricted to any specific veteran groups. While the primary focus of the program is on critical home repairs for veterans, the foundation has expressed their readiness to fund standard repairs on the homes of qualified veterans provided homes with critical needs take precedence.

Yard Care and Upkeep
Ohio’s variety of seasonal weather brings plenty of beauty and enjoyment, but it also requires ongoing upkeep. When the responsibility of preserving and maintaining your outdoor environment involves more work than you’re physically able to tackle, there are solutions in the area.
This is Dublin’s spring clean up day for area senior citizens’ homes and nonprofit organizations. On the first Saturday of every May, a group of volunteers will come the residences of seniors who can’t clean up their yards after winter to tackle projects such as mulching, weeding, trimming, minor outdoor repair and moving.
